What his foster pawrents say:
“Kuro is one of those hounds who makes people fall for him fast.”
The moment Kuro found his people
When Josephine and Maggie got in touch about inviting a hound into their life, we had a feeling Kuro might just be the perfect match. From their very first meeting just before Easter, the connection was clear. Kuro headed off on his home trial and it didn't take long before it became obvious he was already home.
Kuro settled beautifully with his big sister Wellie, who minded him like a baby and helped him feel safe in his new home. Sadly, Wellie is no longer with us, but her gentle presence and love will always remain part of Kuro's story. She welcomed him, cared for him and helped shape his early journey. Her role in his life was a gift, and she will always be remembered.
Since settling in, Kuro has come on in leaps and bounds, revealing his cheeky self and making himself completely at home. He chats and dances his way through the day, greets his humans with happy dances and yoga poses every morning, and has astonished everyone with his ability to carry a bottle of wine through the house and out to the garden.
A weekend in the life of Kuro
Kuro splits his time between Josephine during the week and Maggie at the weekend. His days are filled with sniffaris, collecting shoes and plenty of tap dancing. He's incredibly curious, especially when the shopping arrives, and loves to investigate every bag and box. His morning greetings are one of the most delightful parts of the day: happy dances, yoga poses and plenty of chatter.
Greatest achievement?
Mastering the art of carrying a bottle of wine through the house without dropping it. A true gentleman.
Josephine says:
'We came to Dublin to meet Kuro just before Easter. I think by the time we got half way home and stopped for a pee pee he had already stolen our hearts. Kuro settled well with his big doggie sister who minded him like a baby. Sadly she is no longer with us (RIP Wellie over the rainbow bridge).
Kuro made it clear he still wanted to stay with Jo and see Maggie at the weekend. He's come on in leaps and bounds revealing his cheeky self and making himself at home chattering and dancing all the way. One of the most delightful things about Kuro is his morning greetings (happy dances and yoga poses). He is a very curious boy when the shopping arrives and astonished us by his ability to carry a bottle of wine through the house and out to the garden to play. Kuro has brought doggie life and love to my home and I am so grateful for him.'
Thank you
A heartfelt thank you to Svetlana and Ryan for their outstanding dedication to Kuro. In the world of greyhound rescue, fosterers are our heroes, and these two go above and beyond every single time. Large black male hounds like Kuro often spend a longer period in foster waiting for their forever home, but Svetlana and Ryan made sure Kuro never felt like he was just waiting.
They gave him a true home for as long as he needed it. Thank you both for your remarkable care and for being the bridge to Kuro's forever home.
And of course a big round of applause to foster siblings Kitkat and Buzz for helping Kuro along the way.
Why Greyhounds Make Great Pets
Greyhounds are often misunderstood, and big black males especially so. They're calm, gentle and full of character. Kuro is living proof that patience reveals the most wonderful personality.
• Two short walks, then back to the couch.
• Quiet but chatty in their own unique way.
• Excellent companions who bond deeply with their people.
• Full of personality: morning yoga, happy dances, shoe collectors.
• Loyal, affectionate and endlessly entertaining.
Ready to Meet Your Future Hound?
Every greyhound at RIGHT lives in a foster home before adoption. This means they're house trained, used to home life and showing their real personality. You're not taking a chance. You're meeting a hound who's already settled into the rhythm of home.
RIGHT was founded in 2019 and is run entirely by volunteers. We're a foster-based charity, which means every hound gets the chance to decompress, learn and grow before finding their forever family. We also run regular meet and greets so you can spend time with our hounds and see if there's a connection. Learn more about our adoption process.
If you'd like to meet your future hound, get in touch. We'd love to hear from you.
Kuro is home, but there are so many others waiting to find their forever family just like him. You're not rescuing a greyhound. You're giving them the life they've always deserved. And in return? Unconditional love and a companion who'll never leave your side.
Still Tap Dancing. Still Waiting. Still Perfect.
He's Got the Moves. He's Got the Overbite. He's Still Available.
Kuro is four years old, shiny black, famously overbite-forward and quite possibly the happiest hound in Dublin. He chitters, he tap dances, he leans in gently and then looks up at you like you're the best thing he's ever seen. He does this to everyone. It works every time.
What his foster Pawrents say: “Kuro is one of those hounds who makes people fall for him fast.”
He's settled beautifully into foster life. He's claimed the downstairs as his domain, rotating between four cosy beds with the kind of quiet confidence of a spoiled foster hound. He sleeps soundly through the night, follows his routine easily and is brilliant with people of all ages, children included.
His playful side has really come to life too. He's started playing properly, and the tap dancing has to be seen to be believed. He loves company, cuddles and a good ear rub and has no resource guarding around food, toys or beds.
On walks he's a keen sniffer and explorer. He can pull a little in new places or if something catches his eye, but he's making steady progress and traffic doesn't bother him at all.
Kuro is one of those hounds who makes people fall for him fast. He's been in foster a while now and his perfect family is absolutely out there. He's ready, settled and just waiting for the right door to open.
Could yours be the one?

On walks Kuro is a curious boy who loves sniffing and exploring. He can be a little strong on the lead in new places or when excited by cats or local wildlife but with patient, consistent training he will continue to improve. Traffic and loud noises do not bother him at all and he takes everything in his stride. If you are ready to welcome a loyal, sweet companion with the cutest little overbite into your home, Kuro is ready to meet you.
