From foster homes to forever homes
RIGHT is a foster-based, volunteer-run greyhound rehoming charity based in Ireland.
Unlike many adoption groups, every RIGHT dog has already lived in a home with experienced fosterers, often alongside other dogs, so they’re fully house-trained, well-socialised and ready for real life. We don’t use kennels or send dogs abroad. Our greyhounds stay in loving foster homes around the country until the right forever home comes along.
About RIGHT
RIGHT was established in 2019 by a small group of volunteers who met through a shared love of greyhounds. We saw a real need for a dedicated, Irish-based charity focused on finding homes for retired greyhounds here in Ireland, not sending them abroad.
Currently, many Irish greyhounds are rehomed overseas, mainly to the UK and Europe, where they’re actively promoted as pets. We believe they deserve that same chance here.
RIGHT is a foster-based, volunteer-run organisation. Every greyhound in our care lives in a real home with experienced fosterers before adoption. This means they’re house-trained, used to home comforts, and often living alongside other dogs.
We’ve helped dozens of greyhounds find the loving homes they deserve. We also organise regular meet and greet events to give people the chance to get to know greyhounds in a relaxed, friendly setting.
Gentle, quiet and completely underrated
Greyhounds are often misunderstood. They're not barky, bouncy or full of chaos. Most are calm, quiet and surprisingly shy when they first arrive home. They take life at their own pace with the odd zoomie!
Why adopt a greyhound?
Greyhounds are sensitive, sweet and low-maintenance, with just enough oddball charm to keep you smiling. They don’t need hours of walking or wild playtime. What they do need is a soft bed, a bit of understanding, and someone who’ll love them for the quirky, gentle souls they are.
If you're looking for a loyal, affectionate companion with a huge heart (and maybe a few cosy jumpers), a greyhound could be your perfect match.
